Videotape — Minoui
Music Video

Videotape is the debut music video of Vietnamese indie artist Minoui. In 2020, he gave me the audio and told me to run free with it. After lots of exploration, we decided to shoot an 80s-style music video. We were under strict lockdown, so I had the idea of shooting greenscreen and then using digitfootage and then using digital arts to enhance ital arts to accompany the footage. I then had my talented collaborator Tin to do the 3d animation, which I composited into the final video.

As the director, I led production and art direction throughout the shoot. I collaborated with Minoui and Tin (our 3d animator) to help achieved a visual direction that's fitting with the song. At the same time, I help led a reshoot through Covid restrictions, and delivered the music video at the peak of Covid lockdown.
